President Trump met with Colorado Governor Jared Polis (D) and North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum (R) on their states' handling of the coronavirus pandemic. Regarding the $3 trillion House Democratic-proposed stimulus bill, the president said it was “dead on arrival,” citing issues with election legislation within the package as cause for concern. President Trump also commented on National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Anthony Fauci’s recent testimony before a Senate committee, saying Dr. Fauci’s response to a question on reopening the country was “not an acceptable answer.” The governors spoke about their efforts to reopen their respective states safely and thanked the federal government for help with testing equipment. close
